about

We spent a weekend with a truly inspiring group of people in Tampa, Florida. Todd Lynne of the Cephia’s Treat label, and an endlessly entertaining crew of experimental musicians, stand-up comedians, performance artists, and enthusiasts welcomed us into their community with open arms. We followed them around for a day as they set up a string of mind-blowing concerts in locations we would never have taken more than a glance at. Giant parking lots with no vehicles, under bridges transporting the heavy traffic of a thousand strip-mall patrons, and under-utilized public structures once meant for the very reason we were there made up the venue list for a day of nonstop audio-visual stimulation. These pop-up gigs were mostly powered by a hard-working generator, enabling the electronic and amplified acts to find a life in places that remain for the most part ignored.
